Hugh and his wife Debbie have been married for 35 years and met in college singing in the UC Davis Chamber Choir, where he received a B.S in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Hugh was a computer chip designer with IBM for over thirty years, but music, and particularly church music, has always been his passion. After retiring from IBM, Hugh went right back to school and recently graduated from San Jose State with a Master's of Music degree in Choral Conducting. Hugh directs the local a cappella group Crescendo, has studied piano, trumpet, and harpsichord, and composes choral music that has been performed by the Stanford Memorial Church Choir, the Stanford Chamber Chorale, the Schola Cantorum of Silicon Valley, and the Princeton Singers. Debbie works as a grant writer for a local non-profit and is the alto soloist and section leader at the First Congregational Church of Palo Alto. Hugh and Debbie enjoy hiking, bird watching, and watching classic movies.
